You see, I’m your typical ambitious Corporate Lady busting out the 9-5, and climbed the ladder for a “slightly better title”. Truthfully, I was making six figures as a marketing director at a Fortune 500, but I knew deep down it wasn’t meant for me. And I decided to finally become a Corporate Misfit.
I quit my job and continued my e-commerce side hustle with...wait for it! ZERO PLAN.
And naturally that turned out to be a MESS. I lost my investments, and have to shut the shop down. You know what I did?
I cried.
The big cry. You know the one...shoulder-shaking, face-scrunched, can't stop until you're dehydrated, BIG. UGLY. CRY. And once all those tears were out?
I got serious.
I found mentors,
I learned,
I hustled,
and I planned.
I started a T-shirt line that was my first million-dollar business, and it was amazing. I went to trade shows, and women repeatedly asked me how I did it. And, you know what, I still didn't feel like this still was where I was meant to be.
I know, I know. This may now sound to you a little bit like a very successful woman who just was never content in her awesome jobs. But hang with me for a sec.
They morphed from struggling businesses to e-commerces with consistent traffic and sales, organized inventory and distribution, and loyalty tribes.
Some of them landed on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and Dr. Oz and in Oprah Magazine, Forbes, Women's Health, People, Cosmopolitan, and Parent.com.
